The ISA Executive Committee has decided to establish two different grants to support colleagues residing in Turkey and Syria where the recent earthquakes produced serious damages. The main objective of these grants is to prevent students and researchers residing there from giving up participating in the ISA World Congress of Sociology in Melbourne and to offer them continuous affiliation with the ISA.
1. Registration grants for colleagues actively involved in the Congress program (presenters, chairs, discussants) who are residents in Turkey or Syria. Program Coordinators are requested to submit to isa@isa-sociology.org the names of the grantees urgently to be able to process registration grants before the registration deadline of March 22, 2023. Contact RC40 program coordinator Steven A. Wolf saw44@cornell.edu if this applies to you.
2. Membership grants for colleagues who are permanent residents in Turkey or Syria and who wish to become members of the ISA Applications should include their full name, job title, and affiliation and should be submitted to the relevant RC/WG/TG. The RC/WG/TG secretaries should forward these applications to isa@isa-sociology.org by September 15, 2023. All applications will be assessed for their eligibility by the ISA.
