Dear users of the RC40 forum. From time to time we have some unwanted activity in this forum. It is about advertising and spam. This is the disadvantage of having open member access to the forum. The alternative is to close the page for records from members directly. We are trying to clean things up and continuously evaluate the situation. (Real) Comments/suggestions are welcome!
Regards,
Hilde, on behalf of RC40 web

Thanks for the update, Hilde. Keeping the forum open definitely has its pros and cons. It’s great for community growth, but yeah, the spam can get out of hand. Maybe a light moderation queue for first-time posters could help? I’ve seen something similar work well elsewhere. Also had a look at my SASSA Status Check this morning—seems like cleanups are needed in more places than one these days.

At Majuba TVET College, students are taught about digital citizenship, IT security, and responsible online communication—skills that help manage and prevent such issues in real-world and online communities alike.

Hi Hilde, thanks for the update and for all the work being done to keep the forum active and clean. Open access definitely brings value to the community, even if it does come with the occasional spam. Maybe a moderation queue or captcha for new posts could help reduce unwanted activity without restricting access. Since many of us discuss systems like HRMIS here, keeping the space open and productive is important. Happy to help if needed—appreciate all your efforts!
