Dear Friends and Colleagues, Global Minnesota is partnering with the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Programme to host a free, virtual symposium commemorating World Food Day, on October 15th. The theme for this year is “Our Actions Are Our Future” and our focus is on the impact on food security of three mega-challenges - climate change, covid-19, and violent conflicts within and between nations. This event will feature two dozen international, national and local international leaders from a wide range of public and private institutions, including the FAO, WFP, and the Economic and Social Council of the UN (ECOSOC), and from public and private sector leaders successfully tackling these issues in ways that simultaneously promote food security and address underlying causes. All sessions will be archived and captioned for viewers who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
