ACCELERATION OF THE AFRICAN CONTINENTAL FREE TRADE AREA (AFCFTA) IMPLEMENTATION: TOWARDS INCLUSIVE GROWTH AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA
The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), in partnership with the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research, invites young African graduates and scholars to submit abstracts for the 18th Africa Young Graduates and Scholars Conference (AYGS 2024 Conference).
The AYGS 2024 conference will be organised by the HSRC’s Africa Institute of South Africa, and the theme will focus on how the African continent can achieve inclusive growth and sustainable development through implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Anchored to the AfCFTA programme, the submission of abstracts can be made in one of the following sub-themes:
• Governance, peace, and security in the implementation of the AfCFTA
• Agriculture and food system transformation
• Role of science, technology, and innovation in the implementation of the AfCFTA
• The Role of AfCFTA in catalysing climate action, green economy, and just transition in Africa
Abstracts submission guideline:
• Abstracts should be no more than 300 words long.
• Abstracts must be submitted to: https://hsrc.ac.za/AYGS-2024-conference-call.php
• Draft manuscripts of accepted abstracts must be between 6000 and 8000 words.
• Applicants from Francophone Africa are highly encouraged to submit their abstracts.
• Abstract submission deadline: 15 August 2023, 17:00 SAST
• Communication to shortlisted candidates: August 31, 2023
• Draft manuscript submission deadline: 15 December 2023
